Wedding Expo Recap
A swarm of brides and grooms showed up for last Saturday’s wedding expo at The Barn at Heritage Farm. They clearly demonstrated the public demand in this area to use local vendors for their special events. This was the first expo in Surry county in nearly 5 or more years.
Along with 30 other vendors, I showcased my lovely planning business from 10 AM until 2 PM for brides and their families.
The vendor round up included unique photography options, newly opened catering companies, rustic party rentals, even Lula Roe showed up! As a small business owner, one of my desires is to provide a conection between couples and local vendors that will bring their dream into reality. I wanted to take a moment to show case some of those vendors that made a positive impression on me.
I will begin with the venue itself, The Barn at Heritage Farm. The Barn is co-owned by a husband and wife duo, Jessica and John. When I first discovered the venue, it was still in the beginning stages of construction. The windows had not even been put in yet.
Now, it showcases a second floor, a dressing room for the bride and her party as well as a separate space for the groom and his groomsmen, a catering kitchen, restrooms, and a breathtaking view of Pilot Mountain. Outside hosts a unique, adorable water fountain, a pond, and a secondary barn for pictures.
Desilu Photography is another husband wife team that photographs a little bit of everything from weddings, portraits, and commercial photography. Lauren was amazing to talk to and easy to get along with right from the start, a big plus when selecting someone to photograph your special day. They both are very knowledgeable and happily travel throughout North Carolina.
Giannos Woodfired Catering and Special Events attended their first wedding expo on Saturday. Their food was delicious, fresh, and I strongly wanted to return to their table for seconds! The best part with their service is their ability to bring a food truck to deliver fresh, wood-fired pizzas throughout your special event.
New Sentimentals creates a new piece from your treasures you have tucked away and give it new life. I noticed necklaces created from wedding dresses, broaches turned into bracelets, and eloquently designed ring pillows.
Rusted Root Rentals located in Pinnacle, NC provides vintage and rustic rentals and other special finds for weddings, showers, parties, photo shoots and more. They provide a cost effective way to style your event with a vintage or rustic touch while also adding elegance and originality to any event.
Creative Designs Flowers and Gifts is a full service florist. Actually the owner of the store came up to me before I had a chance to visit with her. She has a wonderful, positive personality that makes her easy to work with. Her floral designs were beautiful..look at this pineapple! (I have a strong love of the pineapple)
